The Randox Health Grand National Festival runs from Thursday 12th to Saturday 14th April, 2018, with Ladies day falling on day two of three. With over 600 million people across 125 countries tuning into watch the festival globally, the world will well and truly be watching Liverpool this April.
The images revealed today were captured at Aintree Racecourse and feature Ladies Day Ambassadors, Laura Wright, Sam Quek and Katie Walsh. The images articulate ‘the world is
watching’, and how Liverpool will be on a global stage. The shots also include cues to the passion points of each of the ambassadors and the clothing and accessories featured are from OUTFIT, with global styling inspiration.
In shot one, you’ll see the ambassadors around retro televisions playing historical Grand National races featuring the most famous racehorse, Red Rum. The ambassadors wear chic whites, creams and blacks giving a nod to Parisian style. Sam Quek, GB Gold Medal Olympian, and now TV presenter, leads this set. Sam said ‘I love the chic style, it’s so glamorous and yet really affordable’.
The second set of images shows Sporting Soprano, Laura Wright ‘on the worlds stage’ with British and Liverpool inspired outfits, and Aintree Racecourse as the backdrop. Laura will be performing the National Anthem live, moments before the Randox Health Grand National itself starts. Laura said “The shoot was incredible. We are so excited to share the images with the world and I can’t wait to perform at Aintree in April”
The final group of images has a Spanish feel with reds, ruffles, and set in the incredible Aintree International Equestrian Centre which gives a circus feel. Katie Walsh conducts the space with two horses by her side in a striking red suit. Katie is the highest placed female jockey in the history the Grand National, coming third in 2012 aboard Seabass. Racing is in her blood growing up on a yard in Ireland with her dad Ted, a trainer, and jockey brother, Ruby. During the Festival, the Equestrian Centre, known as the Aintree Pavilion, will see bands take to the stage to provide entertainment throughout the day and into the early evening.
OUTFIT houses the latest pieces from the best high street brands. Top-to-toe collections from Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis including menswear from Topman and Burton. John Baker, Regional Director of Aintree Racecourse, said “We are thrilled to partner with OUTFIT Fashion this year, we’re set for one of the best Ladies Days ever”.
